Dinsmore started from very humble origins, when in the 1100’s Augustinian Monks would dye fabrics on the very same site we are on today!
Then, in 1791, the Mill was first registered as a business, before being taken over in the 1800s by the Dinsmore Family. Today it is still a family-owned textiles based company with 2 factories within the UK.
The technology has moved on a bit in the last 200 years, but Dinsmore is still as committed and passionate as ever, to providing top quality textiles with a first class service.

Through our supply chain expertise, we can pretty much do everything from field to fabric!
We have very good sourcing capabilities, for a wide range of fabrics and substrates (cotton, polycotton, nylon, polyester, viscose and various blends including organic cotton).
We can help advise on construction, composition, and technical specs of fabrics, and test these in-house in our lab.
That fabric can then be prepared, dyed and finished at our own site.
We can then offer a wide variety of finishes, including fire retardant (FR), durable water resist (DWR), anti-microbial and many others can be applied if needed.
The fabric could also be coated, which we can offer also. this includes waterproof coatings, downproof, or any other coating application.
Dinsmore is also able to offer wet and dry wax finishes, which can be seen in many popular jacket brands.
Through our supply chain expertise we are able to source a wide range of fabrics (cotton, polycotton, nylon, polyester, viscose and various blends including organic cotton).
We treat every order as bespoke. That means you get the exact finished product that you expect. We plan every order with our customer in mind to ensure we are offering the best service possible.
The orders are planned through our factory with all the processes required, and a delivery date given to our customers. We keep our customers updated every step of the journey to ensure there are no surprises!
Dinsmore’s current fabric processing facilities, within our 2 factories in Kells and Meltham, contain a wide range of options in terms of blends of fabrics, treatments and widths. Distinct process routings are defined for each product/order to achieve the requirements of each customer and order. Our process stages are outlined below.
